San Francisco
San Francisco is one of the most well-known "metropolis" cities in the world. Known for its financial industry, San Francisco has over the years become synonymous with "the bay", the "bay area" and even in some respects "Silicon Valley".
Although Silicon Valley is located in the South Bay, San Francisco's notoriety has led to many recruiters, vendors and even employers referring to the entire Northern California area as the "San Francisco bay".
Background
Most of my career as a web developer has been in the bay area and since high school, the enterprises I have worked for are most notably LindenLab and a remote position with ACT.
I worked for LindenLab as a LAMP stack developer and graphic designer (UI Developer) for the Press and Media section of the LindenLab website. LindenLab was a great place to work and the offices were located in downtown San Francisco.
I received an opportunity to work 100% remote in 2018 for ACT, a testing administration organization. ACT is based in Iowa City, IA and my time spent on this contract was for creating a new application for testing.
Summary
