Internships can be great opportunities for young workers to gain the experience they will require in the future.

Working as an intern allows a person to gain insight into an industry of their choice. Understanding how the industry works, how they fit into the industry and how they can improve over time are just a few of the benefits of an internship.

My History

I started my first intership before I had a serious interest in computer science. I was a pre-college graphic designer and illustrator. I received my intership through my high school and was assigned to a professional artisan who made wood works as well as designed furniture for clients.

I was tasked with learning how to use Microsoft Office Visio, a vectoring tool which I had never worked with before. I spent the entire summer perfecting my skills and was able to utilize those skills in future vector based software.

I have had numerous interns during my time in China. At Woodard Education, we had an internship program for Chinese students during the summer holiday, in which they learned skills such as web design, illustration, video journalism and graphic illustration.
